We keep trying to hold onto pieces of our personality while getting lost in the rush hour with our heavy suitcases. One such trait most of us strive to keep in touch with is wanderlust. We’ve traveled enough to know what an adrenaline rush it is, but we haven’t traveled enough to anchor ourselves in one place just yet. But while we wait to get on a plane, we need some reminders splattered across the room.
So here’s our attempt to envelop our rooms with as much travel energy as we can muster.
1. Life Size Map
Get a map and tag all the locations you want to go to and when and make your life size travel itinerary.
2. Compass light
When you look up from your bed, you’ll see an illuminated compass pointing you in the direction of your next trip.
3. Vintage Trunk Stand.
Instead of using boring old side tables, make your own side table with vintage trunks and add some charm.
4. City Throw Pillows
Throw pillows have never looked so worldly, get your own set and put the names of all the places you’ve fallen in love with.
5. Number Plate Headboard
Make a bed headboard collage with number plates of all the cars that have taken you down the countryside in Italy, up broadway and along the winding roads leading to an African safari.
6. Worldly Baskets
Forget the wicker baskets you use for just about anything, instead, use these to make even mundane household stuff look cool as all hell!
7. The World map Bookshelf
Get your favourite books from each trip and stock it geographically, when you see a huge empty space, you know your next backpacking trip has to be headed that way.
8. Eiffel Tower Hook.
Paris will always have your heart and if you haven’t been, this Eiffel tower hook will keep you yearning to make the trip.
9. Travel Signboards.
When you think everything is too far, just look at these beautiful signboards and you’ll know there are places within your reach.
10. A string of souvenirs.
This is the best way to keep all your souvenirs and memories from your escapades in plain sight. Just clip on pictures from each trip, postcards you collected and you’re good to go!
11. Travel Carpet
This isn’t Aladdin’s carpet but it’s downright inspiring.
12. Travel fund
Each time you look around the room and feel motivated, add to the travel fund, make it a habit and see how long you can keep it up for.
13. Wall Clock
If you think about it, every turn of the hand puts you in a new continent!
14. Memories in a Box
For all the organised souls, it’s a place to keep all your air tickets and pictures. The best part? It looks so good!
15. Frame your collection
If you collect coins, postcards, keychains, frame them like a collage and make your room look awesome.
16. Airplane Window Frames
So you never forget how you’re first flight felt.
So wish upon your fairy god-mother and turn the wand around.
This is what your a traveler’s room needs and it’s time to get it.
